The Purpose

Oversee the daily operations of the Bridge program including integrated education and training, college on ramping, digital literacy, and college and career-related English language acquisition.

What You'll be Doing
  • Manage the daily operations of the Bridge programs
  • Schedule, oversee and teach classes Hire, supervise, and evaluate faculty

Monitor program effectiveness and explore areas for growth
  • Develop implementation plans for program expansion or improvement
  • Develop curriculum and evaluate effectiveness for both online and face to face classes
  • Develop career pathways for IET programs
  • Advise students and monitor/track progress
  • Improve student enrollment & retention in Bridge services
  • Establish and maintain partnerships
  • Ensure compliance and confidentiality with all policies and procedures of the College, NC
  • Community College System, and applicable state and federal agencies.

Additionally
  • Represent BRCC and the Adult Education and Literacy department at conferences and meetings
  • Maintain a positive, productive work environment.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education

Required: Bachelor's degree in adult education, education, TESOL or related field.

Preferred:

Master's degree, and bilingual in Spanish and English preferred.

Experience

Minimum three years teaching at-risk, disenfranchised learners. Three years of program development and supervisory experience preferred.

Skills and the Know-How

A successful candidate will demonstrate knowledge of the best practices for instructional delivery, program evaluation and development, supervision and advising. Must have the ability to multitask and be able to manage a significant volume of work. The candidate will possess strong people skills, be able to work effectively with diverse populations, and be flexible and adaptable to change. Knowledge of Adult Education and Literacy programming and adult learning theory is preferred. Successful candidate will have strong technology skills.

Physical Demands

The ability to perform all duties associated with the position including, but not limited to lifting, prolonged standing, sitting, bending, stooping, and operating or performing work with associated tools and machines.
