Centralia College is located on a 30-acre campus in the heart of Centralia, Washington and has been serving students in the Lewis County region since 1925. As a comprehensive community college, Centralia College offers academic transfer and workforce programs, as well as adult basic education, ELL, and personal enrichment classes. The college also offers four Bachelor of Applied Science degrees: Information Technology - Application Development, Diesel Technology, Applied Management (Business), and Teacher Education.

In addition to the main campus in Centralia, Centralia College East in Morton is a smaller site that serves the needs of students in east Lewis County. Since the college is committed to the success of all students, Centralia College also provides educational programs at two corrections centers in southwest Washington - Garrett Heyns Education Center located in Shelton, Washington and Cedar Creek Corrections Center located in Littlerock, Washington. In total, the college serves more than 7,000 students annually. Job Description Centralia College is seeking qualified part-time instructors for our BEdA programs. This position will include teaching multilevel ELA, ABE, High School Plus, GED®, I-BEST, and other courses as identified. Instructional modalities will include face-to-face, hybrid, virtual, and online. Course assignments will vary quarter to quarter. This position may include evening hours and teaching at other locations. Duties and Responsibilities
    Develop and/or update class syllabusDevelop and teach to the objectives of the approved curriculumIdentify individual learning needs of students and make appropriate adjustments to instructionCreate and maintain an environment of rapport and respectMaintain up-to-date appropriate records which indicate student progress and attendance that meet college requirementsComplete student intake and administer CASAS pre- and post-testing Present a certificate of completion of Canvas 101, or complete Canvas 101 training within the first two quarters of employmentComplete mandatory CASAS trainings for assessmentQualifications
      Bachelor”s degree with a focus in English Language Learning, TESOL, TEFL, Linguistics or other related field from an accredited institution.Two years full-time teaching experience in adult learning or high school setting or equivalent experience. Experience using technologies commonly used in instruction and office environments, including ability to effectively use learning management systems in all class modalities.Preferred Qualifications
        Master”s degree with focus in English Language Learning English Language Learning, TESOL, TEFL, Linguistics or other related field from an accredited institution.Two years teaching experience in a community college or similar setting. Experience in curriculum design.Experience teaching cross-culturally, multi-level classes face-to-face, hybrid and online. Experience implementing Basic Skills requirements of the Washington State Board for Community and Technical Colleges, e.g., Washington Adult Learning Standards, CCRS familiarity, CASAS, etc. Conditions of Employment

        COMPENSATION:

        Current lecture/lab rates ($886.41 - $1,358.22 per credit)
