Full-time Description
The Adult Education Manager position manages adult education programs for YWCA to improve economic mobility and civic engagement for immigrants and refugees. These classes include ESL, Digital Skills, Citizenship, and Employment Focused class for English Learners. The Adult Education Manager will be responsible for overseeing staff and volunteers, managing relationships with partners, developing new programming to meet community needs and ensuring programs meet agency and grant program requirements.

The Adult Education Manager will be responsible for overseeing staff and volunteers, managing relationships with partners, developing new programming to meet community needs and ensuring programs meet agency and grant program requirements.

Program Development:
- Oversee Adult Education program to ensure students are successful in their education, career, citizenship and personal goals and advance services to the immigrant and refugee community in Tulsa.
- Collaborate with the Youth Education Program to build family literacy programming that develops first language literacy as well as English language skills for parents and children.
- Build and maintain relationships with community partners, school district leaders, and governmental agencies to ensure quality access to services for YWCA clients and the immigrant and refugee community while also promoting YWCA”s programming through outreach events.
- Collaborate other YWCA programs including Legal Services, Case Management, Interpretation and Translation, and Health and Wellness to ensure holistic program offerings.
Program Management:
- Plan, organize, evaluate, and assign activities to ensure quality of instruction and compliance with grant and agency guidelines and outcomes.
- Supervise and train staff while assisting in problem solving, coaching, communication, conflict resolution, and establishing goals and objectives to ensure quality of education services provided to clients.
- Responsible for maintaining on-going communication and grant program changes to key staff identified in grant-funded programs.
- Monitor Program data related to student services and outcomes, teacher professional development hours in program databases and case files to ensure accurate documentation for grant and agency requirements.
- Ability to manage and supervise the work of staff, including assigning, monitoring, delegating, evaluating work, hiring, training, counseling, and disciplining staff, and processing grievances.
- Ability to analyze and prepare budgets, schedules, reports, policies, procedures and business correspondence.
- Ability to exercise sound judgment within established guidelines.
- Knowledge of databases and spreadsheet programs utilized by the organization, and knowledge of applicable information technology relative to service area.
- Intermediate computer skills (Microsoft Office Suite -Word, Excel, Outlook, including other immigration program and/or databases.)
- Must be organized and flexible.
- Must have initiative, creativity, and give attention to details.
- Must have the ability to regularly work evenings and weekends with flexible scheduling. Exhibits regular and punctual attendance.

- Reliable transportation with a valid Oklahoma driver license and current insurance verification.
Education/Experience:
- Master”s degree in TESOL or Oklahoma State Teaching certification in ELL required.
- Five years teaching experience with adult English language learners preferred.
- Experience working with learners from a variety of cultural and linguistic groups is highly desired.
- Experience designing student-centered, thematic-based curriculum and developing and monitoring evaluation systems highly desired.
- Two years of supervisory or management experience.
- Proven experience in administrative skills, including planning, organization, and time management.
