Class Description

Provide instruction to English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) students. Levels taught include Beginning to Intermediate levels providing instruction to improve English for workplace and community settings. Classes at the Advanced level are also provided to improve English for pre-academic or professional purposes. Duties include class preparation, instruction, testing, and record-keeping/data collection for grant reporting. Attendance at semester meetings and professional development trainings are required (Stipends provided).
Pay rates for non-credit courses in Continuing Education are commensurate with education and experience qualifications.
Minimum Requirements
BA/BS degree, experience and/or training teaching non-native English speaking adult students, knowledge of adult learning theory and best practices for use in teaching non-native English learners, and computer proficiency. Preferred: Certificate or degree in TESOL and one year of experience teaching adult ESOL.
